Guy Tomlinson

Guy Tomlinson of The Marketing Directors

Guy is a brand marketing, research and innovation expert and leads much of our work. He has been a marketing director and business planning manager for ten years and marketing consultant for fifteen years. His experience includes working for companies and world leading brands including Procter & Gamble, Boots, Cadbury, McDonald’s, BBC and Reader’s Digest and management and marketing consultancies KAE, New Solutions and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Guy is also a Course Director for The Chartered Institute of Marketing and co-author of The Marketing Director’s Handbook. He has a BSc in Chemistry and a passion for water skiing, tennis and Hull City AFC

Helen Hoyle

Guy Tomlinson of The Market ResearchersHelen is a highly experienced creative qualitative researcher and project manager with twelve years experience in product, packaging, communications and brand development research. She has huge experience in fast moving consumer goods, particularly food, drink and healthcare. Helen has a passion for innovating new research approaches and pioneered the development of quali-quant clinics to answer specific needs for robust numbers and qualitative insights. She has risen through the ranks at Tangible Branding, has a BA in History and an Advanced Certificate in Marketing (Chartered Institute of Marketing).

Geoff Dodds

Geoff Dodds of The Marketing DirectorsGeoff is an expert marketer, business and brand strategist and coach. He has huge experience in building corporate brands, sales, facilitating change and teaching. He has worked at the highest levels in several blue-chip organisations. Most recently he was head of brand at Lloyd’s of London and global brand director at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Geoff started his career in consumer goods at GlaxoSmithKline before moving into retail as marketing director at the Dixons Stores Group. Geoff has an MA in Oriental Studies and loves walking in Wales

Saff Mitten

Saff Mitten of The Market Researchers Saff is an expert brand researcher and innovator. An Australian national, she trained in qualitative and quantitative research down under and now lives and works in the UK. Saff has particular experience in consumer goods, media, telecoms and services markets as well as dealing with a range of social issues for Government and other public sector organisations. She is passionate about raising standards in qualitative research and held responsibility in this area for both the Association for Qualitative Researchers in the UK and Market Research Society of Australia. Saff has a degree in Communications

Susan Flinders

Susan Flinders of The Marketing DirectorsSusan is a creative marketing communications expert. She has particular expertise in helping extend brands into new markets via brand licensing. Susan started her career in advertising and then went on to work in and run a number of communications and licensing agencies. Most recently she was marketing director for Storm, responsible for global operations and where she helped extend the brand into new fashion markets. Susan has experience in markets including consumer goods, fashion, healthcare, media and services. She has a BA in Graphic Design and is an avid astronomer

Tim Arnold

Tim Arnold of The Marketing DirectorsTim is a highly creative marketer with immense expertise in developing creative marketing solutions typically associated with agencies. He also has huge experience in website and digital marketing. Unilever trained, he has ten years experience as a marketing director and twenty years agency experience. Tim has worked in most industry sectors and with a range of multi-nationals, independent companies and brands in both b2c and b2b sectors. He is co-author of The Marketing Director’s Handbook with Guy and currently working on a hotel (and probably restaurant/pub) guide (but don’t mention this to his wife)

Chris Yates

Tim Arnold of The Marketing DirectorsChris is an award winning and creative statistician with twenty years statistics and mathematical modelling experience. During his career he has undertaken complex statistical analyses, customer segmentations and created sales forecasts for commercial and non-profit organisations, national and local Government and the European Commission. All work involves using a unique combination of statistical techniques, such as multiple and non-linear regression, factor and cluster analysis, forecasting and time series. Chris started his career as a statistician for Unilever, the Meat and Livestock Commission and then as a Research Fellow at the University of Reading. He has a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics, an MSc in Applied Statistics and a PhD in Operations Research.

Emma Devine

Susan Flinders of The Marketing DirectorsEmma is a very talented designer and specialises in graphic design for packaging, printed and digital media. She helps build arresting and engaging brands by bringing our strategies to life. Emma has had a passion for design since the age of ten and has won a hatful of awards in her still short career. Her successes include working for brands including Kelloggs, Mercedes, Jacobs Creek and Jordans. She has a BA in Applied Graphic Design

 

Louize Gibson

Louize Gibson of The Market ResearchersLouize is an expert qualitative researcher and innovator. She trained at Hauck Research and subsequently moved to Added Value. During her twenty year research career she has specialised in innovation and especially enjoys finding new ways of involving consumers in the creative process. Louize has worked on many well known brands and has huge experience in consumer goods, healthcare, media and services markets. She has a BA in Marketing and Theatre Studies

 

Mary Spence

Mary Spence of The Market ResearchersMary is an expert researcher and innovator. She has huge expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research and new product development. Mary has worked with many well known agencies including KAE, Diagnostics and Tangible as well as her own company McDonnell Spence. Sharon Wolf

Sharon Wolfe of The Market ResearchersSharon is one of the world’s leading qualitative and ethnographic researchers. Based in San Francisco and New York, she runs US projects as well as contributes to global studies. Previously Sharon was marketing director for Spicer and Oppenheim. She has also held leadership positions for ESOMAR and the American Marketing Association and was the founding Editor in Chief for QRCA Views (the journal of the US Qualitative Research Consultants Association). She has an MA in Literature and an MS in Psychology

 

Nicky Miller

Nicky Miller of The Market ResearchersNick is our research recruitment manager and a creative helping develop research stimulus. After five years working for us she has built huge personal networks.
